The 1st Donghu Forum, themed by “Cultivate the fertile ground for science popularization and let scientific dreams soar”, was held at China Optics Valley Convention & Exhibition Center from October 20th to 22nd. As one of the parallel sessions, the Future Technology and Future Industry Innovation Forum was initiated by the Hubei Provincial Government, and jointly organized by the School of Future Technology (SFT) of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST).

Present at the forum were Xia Song, Vice Director of Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province; Gao Liang, Vice President of HUST; and leaders and delegates from Strategic Planning Office at Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province, Hubei Academy of Scientific and Technical Information and HUST Science Park.

The sub-forum invited 7 experts and scholars from government, global think tanks, universities, institutes and enterprises to give keynote speeches, including Professor Jürgen Kurths, member of the Academia Europaea, International Dean of the School of Future Technology(SFT) and the School of Engineering Sciences(SES) at HUST. This parallel session aimed to build an exchange and discussion platform for future technology and future industrial development with national influence, focusing on the forefront of global technology and industrial development, and emphasizing the profound integration of cutting-edge technological innovation achievements and science popularization.

More than 60 representatives of teachers and students from SFT participated in this forum to connect with the international frontiers of industrial innovation and explore new fields of future technology.
